Villa’s pre-season campaign has been far more extensive, the Premier League side partaking in six matches since beating Manchester City 2-1 on the final day of the 2025-26 season. It is 1-1 in the head-to-head standings. PSG and Villa locked horns in the quarter-final stage of the 2024-25 Champions League season – and it was a truly epic tie.
The French side claimed a 3-1 win on home soil after Morgan Rogers had initially given Villa the advantage at the Parc des Princes.
PSG then stormed into a 2-0 lead at Villa Park in the second leg, before the hosts staged a sensational comeback. Goals from Youri Tielemans, John McGinn and Ezri Konsa made it 3-2 on the night, but despite their goal being peppered, Enrique’s men held on to progress.
