Enzo Fernandez – Chelsea to Manchester City
Fernandez’s desire to leave Chelsea was clear for some time – and on deadline day, the Argentine midfielder finally got his wish. The all-action midfielder completed a British-record £125m switch to Man City, re-linking up with ex-Blues boss Enzo Maresca in the process. Fernandez scored 10 goals and registered four assists in the Premier League last season, a level of output which could transform City’s XI.
Morgan Rogers – Aston Villa to Chelsea
Rogers lit up the Premier League stage in recent campaigns, so much so that Chelsea were ready to part with £117m to acquire his services. The England international recorded 34 goal contributions for Aston Villa across 2024-25 and 2025-26, serious numbers. Rogers, Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro have the makings of a truly world-class front three.
Elliot Anderson – Nottingham Forest to Manchester City
After two very impressive seasons at the City Ground with Nottingham Forest, Anderson was brought in to headline Man City’s new-look midfield (with Fernandez a great support act). With Rodri and Bernardo Silva each departing the Etihad over the summer, it is a big task at the feet of the young Englishman.
Bradley Barcola – Paris Saint-Germain to Liverpool
With the Mohamed Salah era at Anfield now at an end, it is time for a new chapter in Liverpool’s history – the Barcola era! The skilful Frenchman joined the Reds for an initial fee of £106m. Barcola’s stats in Ligue 1 over the past two seasons are pretty decent, with 24 goals and and 10 assists tallied from 63 appearances.
Yan Diomande – RB Leipzig to Real Madrid
Diomande caught the eye with Ivory Coast at World Cup 2026 and after a breakthrough campaign at RB Leipzig, the tricky winger earned a huge move to Real Madrid. Diomande finished the 2025-26 Bundesliga season with 12 goals and eight assists, a fine return indeed.
Sandro Tonali – Newcastle to Tottenham
Tonali’s three-year spell at Newcastle came to an end this summer. The Italian maestro – who certainly has the talent to be recognised as one of the world’s best – decided to link up with fellow countryman Roberto De Zerbi in North London, costing Spurs a club-record £100m in the process. No pressure, Sandro!
Mateus Fernandes – West Ham to Tottenham
Spurs’ midfield rebuild continued with the acquisition of Fernandes from local rivals West Ham. Despite being part of a Hammers squad which was relegated from the Premier League, the Portuguese was snapped up for around £85m. The 22-year-old will look to add composure and steel to the middle of the park, attributes which Spurs sorely missed last season.
Ayyoub Bouaddi – Lille to Manchester City
Bouaddi’s dazzling displays at World Cup 2026 with Morocco eventually saw him secure a mega-money from Lille to Man City. Still only 18 years of age, you feel only the sky is the limit for this all-round midfield package.
Savinho – Manchester City to Tottenham
Despite scoring just seven goals in 84 appearances for Man City, Brazilian winger Savinho earned himself a huge move to Spurs. The 22-year-old is clearly a huge talent, and scored on his debut vs Charlton in the EFL Cup. Nevertheless, it will be tough for him to justify the £85m outlay.
Bruno Guimaraes – Newcastle to Arsenal
Guimaraes was the marquee signing made by defending Premier League champions, Arsenal. The Brazilian can occupy a number of different roles, and should allow Mikel Arteta to rotate the likes of Declan Rice more efficiently. If he can mirror his best days at Newcastle in a Gunners jersey, the £75m fee could resemble something of a bargain in the near future.
