Brentford vs Chelsea Preview

Recent results

After thrashing Tottenham 3-0 on the opening weekend of the season, Brentford have drawn their last three matches in the Premier League vs Leeds (1-1), Sunderland (1-1) and Bournemouth (2-2). However, Keith Andrews’ side did get back to winning ways on Tuesday evening courtesy of a 2-1 victory at Reading in the EFL Cup third round.

As for Chelsea, the last couple of weeks have been a bit of a mixed bag. The 2-1 loss at champions Arsenal was followed by a 6-3 comeback victory over Leeds in the EFL Cup third round. But Xabi Alonso’s men could not build on that result and instead drew 2-2 with Hull at Stamford Bridge, with the scoreline certainly not flattering the newly-promoted visitors either.

Head-to-head record

Chelsea are unbeaten in five Premier League matches against Brentford, though three of those games – all of them at the Gtech Stadium – ended in a draw.

Last season’s meeting at Stamford Bridge went 2-0 in favour of the Blues.

Team news

Joshua Dasilva, Antoni Milambo, Nathan Collins, Sepp van den Berg and Kaye Furo are long-term absentees for Brentford, while midfielder Mathias Jensen is a serious doubt.

Summer signing Marco Palestra remains ruled out for Chelsea, while Moises Caicedo, Jordan Henderson and Emmanuel Emegha are rated as doubts.

Brentford vs Chelsea Betting Tips

Draw and both teams to score – Yes @ 3.93

As mentioned above, the last three games between these sides at Brentford’s home finished as a draw. Two of those results were 2-2, and we would not be shocked to see a repeat of that scoreline. Chelsea conceded at least twice in five of their six matches this season, scoring 18 times themselves. As for Brentford, it is just one clean sheet kept in six attempts with 15 goals to their name. A high-scoring game surely beckons in London, and if you want to take slightly less risk with regard to the result, Over 3.5 Goals is nicely priced at 2.05.

Anytime goalscorer – Kevin Schade @ 3.50

Schade has started the season in fine fashion with three goals in four top-flight appearances, two of them netted in last weekend’s draw with Bournemouth. The German forward also struck the previous time Chelsea visited the Gtech Stadium last September, while his speed and penetration should really test Alonso’s back-line – which is still firmly in the ‘testing’ phase.

Anytime goalscorer – Joao Pedro @ 2.26

Pedro has been on fire in 2026-27, already with three goals and three assists to his name. The Brazilian is thriving from the service provided by Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers, a trio Brentford’s defence may struggle to stop. Pedro was on target in Chelsea’s 2-0 home win over the Bees back in January, and backing him to repeat the feat at better than evens looks a solid selection.
