Wales are out for revenge when they take on Denmark in the 2026-27 Nations League this Sunday evening.

Wales vs Denmark Preview

Recent results

After back-to-back defeats vs Portugal (1-0) and – of course – Denmark (2-0), Wales pulled off a shock by beating Norway 2-1 in Cardiff on Thursday evening. Oscar Bobb gave the visitors an early lead, but goals from Daniel James and Neco Williams, either side of a Tobjorn Heggem red card, earned three precious points and relieved some of the pressure building on Bellamy.

Denmark’s victory over Wales in Copenhagen was followed by a 4-2 loss at home to Cristiano Ronaldo-less Portugal, with Vitinha and Joao Felix scoring two late goals for the visiting side. Brian Riemer’s men were beaten 3-2 by Norway on Matchday 1 of the competition.

Head-to-head record

Wales and Denmark met on 12 previous occasions, with the Danes dominating courtesy of eight victories vs four.

The Scandinavian side won the last four clashes by an aggregate score of 10-1, with three of those triumphs secured in the Nations League.

Denmark won 2-1 when the sides last locked horns in Cardiff back in November 2018.

Wales vs Denmark Betting Tips

Both teams to score – Yes @ 1.65

Wales finally found some mojo in front of goal on Thursday, while BTTS landed in six of Denmark’s last eight competitive matches. So it is safe to say this looks a pretty solid pre-match selection.

Total goals – Over 2.5 @ 1.72

Over 2.5 goals were scored in six of Wales’ last seven competitive matches on home soil, which is another good omen following each team’s goal-filled encounter on Thursday. More of the same? Yes please!

Double chance – Wales win or draw @ 1.87

Wales have lost just one of their last 13 competitive matches in Cardiff, excluding penalty shootouts of course. The defeat in question came at the hands of Belgium (2-4) last October, with the loss before that occurring way back in June 2023 vs Armenia (2-4). Visiting sides rarely win in Cardiff, and with Denmark arriving on the back of a defeat, it is perhaps worth covering what are considered the two least likely pre-match outcomes.
