England vs Czech Republic Preview

Recent results

England well and truly flexed their footballing muscles against Croatia last Saturday, with Tuchel’s men winning 7-0 in Rjeka. Goals from Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Anthony Gordon, Bukayo Saka (x2) and Morgan Rogers secured an emphatic victory, which followed a 3-2 loss to world champions Spain and a 2-0 win in the Czech Republic.

The Czechs were beaten 3-1 by Spain in Oviedo last Saturday, making it three defeats from three matches in this edition of the Nations League. Santi Denia’s side lost 2-1 to Croatia, before the aforementioned home loss to England.

Head-to-head record

Second-half goals from Gordon and Kane secured England’s victory in Prague last week.

The Three Lions have now won four of their six meetings with the Czechs, including a 5-0 victory the last time the sides clashed at Wembley in March 2019.

Team news

Tuchel is likely to make wholesale changes to his XI, given the likes of Kane, Saka and Gordon started all three of the previous games. Bellingham should retain his spot after being afforded a rest in the reverse fixture vs Czech Republic, while Rogers looks nailed on to feature from the off. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Rio Ngumoha and Morgan Gibbs-White are other options to freshen up the attack. Ezri Konsa and Alex Scott are each ruled out through injury.

For the Czechs, Ladislav Krejci is suspended after his red card against Spain, while Adam Karabec is an injury doubt. Denia may also look to rotate his XI given the packed schedule in this break.

England vs Czech Republic Betting Tips

England total goals – Over 2.5 @ 1.58

To say England found their goal-scoring mojo against Croatia is something of an understatement. Tuchel’s side were ruthless in forward areas, and though changes are expected, we still expect the hosts to find the target on multiple occasions.

Player to score or assist – Jude Bellingham @ 1.48

Bellingham was simply unplayable against Croatia. The Real Madrid star scored and registered three assists in a truly complete performance. He now boasts a record of 13 goal contributions in his last 11 international appearances, and it is hard to see how a wounded Czech side can limit his influence here.

Player to score or assist – Morgan Rogers @ 1.66

Rogers’ goal after coming off the bench vs Croatia was his third contribution in the last six England outings. He has also started 2026-27 in superb fashion with Chelsea, tallying eight goals and assists from seven appearances across all competitions. And backing him to land another decisive blow at Wembley churns out some decent odds in the grand scheme of things, making this another player-themed selection work backing.
