Como vs Manchester United Preview

Recent results

Como lost 3-2 at Feyenoord on Matchday 2, but followed up that disappointment with an impressive 3-1 Serie A victory over Fiorentina. Fabregas’ men are yet to lose on home soil this season, having beaten RB Leipzig 4-1 on Matchday 1.

Since beating Sabah 4-0 in their Champions League opener, things really have taken a turn for the worse at United. The Red Devils suffered back-to-back defeats vs Manchester City (0-1) and Brighton (2-3), before three consecutive 1-1 draws in the Premier League against Fulham, Tottenham and – most recently – Leeds. Of course, last Tuesday also saw Carrick’s side lose 2-0 at Atletico Madrid, sparking more fears about the manager’s long-term future at Old Trafford.

Head-to-head record

This is the first meeting between Como and Manchester United in any competition.

Team news

Assane Diao and Moise Kean are the two standout injury concerns for Como and Fabregas, while ex-Chelsea centre-back Trevoh Chalobah is also a doubt to feature. Croatia international Martin Baturina is a player to keep an eye on here, the slick playmaker tallying three goals and two assists across all competitions in 2026-27 – two of those contributions recorded on the Champions League stage.

Manuel Ugarte, Benjamin Sesko and Patrick Dorgu are long-term absentees from a Manchester United perspective, while Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo and Ayden Heaven remain doubtful. Lisandro Martinez was subbed at half-time vs Leeds with an injury, and is therefore unlikely to feature here – which represents another big blow for Carrick. However, if fellow centre-back Matthijs de Ligt is fit enough to feature from the off, he could relieve some of the selection headaches.

Como vs Manchester United Odds

Como vs Manchester United Betting Tips

Both teams to score – Yes @ 1.50

While wins have been hard to come by for United, they are at least scoring in the majority of matches – only failing to do so at Atletico in the previous five games. Bryan Mbeumo struck in each of the last two Premier League outings, while Bruno Fernandes always enhances a team’s ability to find the back of the net. Furthermore, BTTS landed in seven of Como’s nine games so far this season, making it well worth backing here.

Draw no bet – Como @ 1.65

United just do not look capable of pulling off a victory right now, with the injury situation at the back certainly not helping matters. Add in the facts that Como are yet to lose at home this season and the Red Devils yet to win away, and siding with the hosts in the DNB market looks the only way to go.

Player to score or assist – Nico Paz @ 2.07

While we gave Baturina an honourable mention above, Argentine ace Paz is the player who really helps this Como side tick from an attacking perspective. He is a superstar in the making, with six goal contributions recorded in nine matches so far this season – including two Champions League assists. Paz was also on target in the victory at Fiorentina, making him a standout selection at better than evens.
