Paris Saint-Germain vs Barcelona – Champions League 2026/27 Match Preview & Betting Tips

Paris Saint-Germain vs Barcelona, a Champions League classic in the making.

Arguably the two best teams in Europe right now, Tuesday’s clash at the Parc des Princes should be football entertainment personified.

Luis Enrique’s PSG side have really hit their groove in recent weeks, scoring 10 goals in the first two European outings and showcasing why they are back-to-back champions.

And Barca are averaging over four goals per game this season, with teenage sensation Lamine Yamal in typically ridiculous form.

With the jeopardy of knockout football also taken away here, an end-to-end game packed full of goals feels close to a certainty.

We cannot wait for the action to get underway in Paris, and below is our online betting preview with tips and the latest Champions League odds.

Recent results

PSG’s 6-1 victory over Slovan Bratislava on Matchday 1 was the start of a six-game winning run, with other triumphs collected over Brest (0-1), Marseille (1-2), Le Mans (3-1), Manchester City (2-4) and – most recently – Strasbourg (1-3).

Barcelona have won all 11 games across all competitions this season, a quite ridiculous record. Hansi Flick’s men beat Real Betis 5-2 away from home on the weekend, which followed the 4-1 success at Galatasaray. The Blaugrana scored 26 goals in their six away games overall following previous wins at Elche (0-5), Valencia (0-5), Levante (2-4) and Sevilla (1-3). It is hard to think of any better starts to a top-flight campaign by a single team!

Head-to-head record

These two sides have played each other 15 times in the Champions League, with Barcelona boasting six wins and PSG five.

Barca even won 3-2 in the most recent clash at the Parc des Princes, though PSG won 4-1 and 2-1 at Camp Nou in the two clashes since then.

Team news

PSG have been rocked by the news that key left-back Nuno Mendes picked up an injury vs Strasbourg and will miss out here, a huge blow given the form of Yamal on the right of Barcelona’s attack. Lucas Digne is likely to be his replacement. Elsewhere, Senny Mayulu is ruled out, while Maghnes Akliouche – who starred vs Man City – is a doubt. But the rest of the big hitters will return to the XI here, including Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz, William Pacho, Marquinhos and Achraf Hakimi. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is fit and available, though appears to have fallen out of favour somewhat, with ex-Barca man Ferran Torres the other attacking option for Enrique.

Barcelona boss Flick has a bit of an injury crisis at the back, with Eric Garcia and Jules Kounde ruled out of this fixture, and Gerard Martin a significant doubt. Andreas Christensen is also an absentee, so Alejandro Balde may come back into the fold here. Raphinha and Anthony Gordon should return to the starting XI at the expense of Gabriel Jesus and Karim Adeyemi, while Frenkie de Jong is an option to bolster the midfield.

Paris Saint-Germain vs Barcelona Betting Tips

Total goals – Over 4.5 @ 2.00

There are a few times in a season where we will confidently back over 4.5 goals in a match – and this is one of them. Games in the early stages of the League Phase often lend themselves to more free-flowing football given the reduced levels of risk, and the attacking power possessed by these teams is frightening. Barca are averaging over four goals per game on the road this season, while PSG averaged slightly over three from their previous six matches across all competitions. Fasten your seatbelts and get ready for some high-octane action!

Player to score or assist – Lamine Yamal @ 1.59

Yamal’s record this season is quite frankly absurd. The Ballon d’Or contender was a bit quiet at World Cup 2026 due to injury recovery, but he has started 2026-27 like a train. Nine goals and 10 assists from 11 appearances is Lionel Messi-esque, and Yamal is showing absolutely zero signs of slowing down after scoring and assisting in the recent win over Betis. With Mendes ruled out through injury, the stage is set for another Yamal masterclass.

Anytime goalscorer – Ousmane Dembele @ 2.10

Dembele’s goal at Man City last week was the sixth consecutive Champions League match in which he has scored, with nine goals tallied in that time – a stellar return indeed. Dembele was also on target off the bench in the weekend’s win at Strasbourg, and there is added motivation for this contest due to his previous stint at Barca.
